Painting Challenges
To enter the Painting Challenges you need to be a member of WSV.
Several times a year members are invited to paint their interpretation of a specific topic and enter their watercolour painting into the Challenge. A panel of judges select the ‘best’ entry and a $100 voucher prize is awarded.
Past themes have covered such topics as Aerial, The Colour Red, Autumn, Moving Water and Waterlilies. These competitions add a bit of fun, interest and participation for our members, especially country, interstate and overseas, to join in.
A number of paintings from each Challenge are selected for display on our website and are shown in the Members Gallery.

Please add your name and title of the work to the filename. One entry per
person is allowed - you choose your best.
A Colour Challenge Inspired by Marc Folly.
Entries close 15 May 2025.
You do not have to paint like Marc Folly - but you can be inspired by his colour combinations! This challenge is about using Marc Folly colours and creating your own wow factor in any subject.

There is a very special prize for this challenge. Instead of the usual Gift Voucher, the the winner will receive the original demonstration painting Marc Folly painted at our May 2024 meeting. (see below) A wonderful prize indeed.

Research his work and select a few colours that remind you of him and then use these in your picture.
